In the last article, we have introduced “Pig Slaughter Line Process 1: Stunning”
After stunning, the next process of pig abattoir slaughter line is killing and bloodletting, which can be divided into two methods including horizontal bloodletting and hanging handstand bloodletting.
Method 1. Horizontal bloodletting
- The stunned pig slides onto the horizontal bloodletting conveyor through the chute.
- Kill and blood let with a knife.
- After 1-2 minutes of bloodletting, 90% of the pig’s blood flows into the blood collection tank.
By this slaughtering method, it is conducive to the collection and utilization of blood, and also improves the slaughter capacity. It is also a perfect combination of three points automatic electric stunning conveyor pig slaughtering machine.
Method 2. Hanging handstand bloodletting
- The stunned pig is chained to one of its hind legs with a pig or hog shackle.
- The pig is lifted into the rail of automatic pig bloodletting conveying line by hoist or lifting device of the pig bloodletting line
- Kill and blood let with a knife.
About automatic pig bloodletting conveying line
- The rail system design of the automatic pig bloodletting line is not less than 3,400 mm from the floor of the workshop.
- The main processes on the automatic pig bloodletting conveyor line are including hanging (killing),bloodletting, pig carcass washing, head cutting.
- The bloodletting time is generally designed to be 5 minutes.
