The group — including the Managing Director and a senior technical specialist — conducted an in-depth factory tour and technical review focused on poultry processing solutions and a potential 2000BPH (birds per hour) poultry slaughter and processing project.
Factory Tour: 500BPH Compact Chicken Slaughter Line
The delegation began with a hands-on inspection of our 500BPH compact chicken slaughter line. For customers whose required capacity is under 1,000BPH, our compact chicken slaughter line is often the most cost-effective solution: all equipment is fully assembled and tested at our factory prior to shipment, reducing on-site installation time and commissioning cost. However, if local regulations or client workshop layouts require a strict separation of “dirty” and “clean” zones, a custom poultry processing line tailored to the customer’s workshop layout will be recommended instead.
Workshop Visit & Parts Inspection
Next, the Ethiopian team visited our parts and finishing workshops. We highlighted several differentiators engineered for durability and reliable long-term operation — for example, custom waterproof bearing covers in our poultry plucker machines (with special small holes to retain lubricating oil inside the bearing), and the use of aluminum for many critical components where most suppliers use iron. These choices increase component life and lower lifetime cost of ownership — an important consideration for any chicken processing plant, broiler processing operation or meat processing factory.
On the production floor, the delegation opened the plucker machine side panel to inspect bearings, belts, and motors. They also viewed multiple ready-for-shipment units including spin chillers, scalding machines, automatic chicken feet cutting machines, water-bath stunners, and the 500BPH compact chicken slaughter line.
2000BPH Poultry Project — Two Design Options
Back in the conference room, HW Machinery and the Ethiopian delegation held a detailed technical exchange focused on the proposed 2000BPH project — reviewing the full process flow, equipment selection, layout options, and technical requirements. That evening (September 12), HW Machinery delivered two full solutions (design packages):
A custom proposal based strictly on the delegation’s stated requirements and regulatory considerations.
A cost-optimized proposal derived from our field experience and best practices, designed to reduce capital expenditure and operating cost while ensuring hygiene and throughput.
